WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK?

" I had no idea that I could improve my fitness to such a degree. It is really life changing and hugely beneficial to improving fitness and general outlook"

Megan, 43 Breast Cancer

"Its great to meet other cancer patients and its inspiring and supportive"

Dennis, 51 Bowel Cancer

The increasing success of adjuvant treatment in improving the success of women with breast cancer has resulted in a renewed focus on the impact of treatment on long-term health. Increasing number of patients report prolonged periods of ill health after the end of therapy. A syndrome similar to that of post infectious chronic fatigue has been identified and prospective studies have been reported which show fatigue in 20-26% up to three years post treatment. Graduated exercise therapy has been shown to positively impact on the duration and the impact of this problem and relieve the distress associated with it in otherwise cured women. I would actively encourage women who are finding difficulties with returning to their normal lives to consider this approach in consulation with your oncologist"
